St John the Baptist is the patron saint of the Archdiocese of Wroclaw, the cathedral  and the city of Wroclaw. The cathedral was dedicated to St John the Baptist AD 1,000. According to legend, Mieszko I received baptism at the confluence of the rivers Odra and Olawa, thus the Baptism of Poland AD 966 took place in Wroclaw, Poland. Św. Jan Chrzciciel jest patronem Archidecezji Wrocławskiej, katedry i samego miasta Wrocławia. Wezwanie św. Jana Chrzciciela katedra otrzymała AD 1000 AD.
