Long dating in romantic sceneries before moving in together allows fantasies to create an idealistic image of the future spouse which will last forever. In addition to eternal memories some want to preserve the virginal beauty carved in stone in the form of caryatides, i. e. decorative supports, named after young women from the Greek village Karyæ who were considered especially beautiful, tall, strong, and capable of giving birth to strong children. The ancient Karyæ ("Walnut Trees") was the hometown of Helen of Troy. Infatuation of Paris towards Helen, called by Homer 'disastrous lust', is to be blamed for the most famous of ancient wars, the Trojan War and destruction of Troy.
